## Getting Started with General Settings

The **General Settings** page is your organization's command center. Here, you can manage the foundational details that define your workspace's identity and its behavior across the platform.

### Name

Your organization name appears across the platform wherever your workspace is referenced. To update it, simply edit the name field and click **Save Changes**. Since this name is visible to customers within the chat interface, ensure it aligns with your official brand guidelines.

### Organization Logo

You can upload separate logos for your organization in both light and dark themes, which ensures your branding always looks intentional regardless of which mode your customers are using.

**a. Light Theme Logo :** This version of your logo appears when customers are using a light or default interface. Upload an image that looks sharp on white or light-colored backgrounds.

**b. Dark Theme Logo :** This version is shown when customers have dark mode enabled. It's usually a good idea to use a lighter or inverted variation of your logo here so it doesn't get lost against a dark background.

**How to update:**

- Click **Change** next to the theme you wish to update and upload your image.

- To revert to default, click **Remove**.

### Locale

The Locale setting determines the primary language for your entire organization. Changing this setting will instantly translate the dashboard interface (such as sidebars, menus, and system labels) for all team members.

### Allow Visitors to Chat

The Allow Visitors to Chat toggle controls how new users interact with your team:

- **Enabled:** Visitors can initiate conversations immediately without signing in. This reduces friction and is ideal for driving higher inbound engagement.

- **Disabled:** Users must be authenticated before they can start a chat.

### Setting Business Hours

Your **Business Hours** are the backbone of your automated support strategy. These settings directly inform your **Bot Policies** to determine when the AI should take over and when human agents are expected to be available.

To set up your operational hours:

- **Toggle Business Hours:** Switch the toggle to **On** to enable time-based rules for your organization.

- **Select Timezone:** Use the dropdown to set your local timezone. This ensures your "Open" and "Closed" states are accurate to your team's actual location.

- **Define the Time Block:** Use the interactive slider to set your start and end times (e.g., 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM).

- **Choose Working Days:** Select the specific days your team is active. You can quickly select **Weekdays** or **Every day** using the shortcuts provided.

_Note: Once these are set, you can use the "Outside business hours" trigger in_ [_Bot Policies_](https://supportwire.featureos.help/en/articles/how-to-manage-conversation-flow-with-bot-policies-supportwire#1-assignment-triggers) _to automatically manage after-hours inquiries._
